Jeremy Scores Podium Finish at Santa Maria Speedway
SANTA MARIA, CA — April 4, 2026 — After a hard-fought weekend at Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway, local 305 sprint car driver Jeremy Alves and the Alves Motorsports team returned to familiar territory at Santa Maria Speedway, where Jeremy has enjoyed success throughout his racing career.
With nine cars checked in for the evening’s California 305 Sprint Series event, Jeremy was eager to get back behind the wheel of the No. 81a sprint car.
Jeremy drew a 6 in the pill draw, putting him early in the order for both hot laps and qualifying. In hot laps, he laid down a solid 13.695-second lap, placing 4th overall and giving the team confidence heading into qualifying.
As the first car to hit the track for qualifying, Jeremy improved his time significantly, stopping the clock at 13.222 seconds. At that point, he sat atop the leaderboard as quick time. When all nine cars had completed their qualifying runs, Jeremy finished 4th overall behind veteran drivers George Tristao, Davey Pombo, and Kevin Barnes.
Jeremy’s qualifying effort placed him 5th on the grid for the BR Motorsports Heat Race #2. After making several early passes and finding the groove that suited his driving style, Jeremy advanced to a strong 3rd-place finish.
The lineup for the Quick Change Liquid Energy main event is determined heavily by qualifying times and pill draw, which put Jeremy in the 4th starting position for the feature.
When the green flag dropped, Jeremy wasted little time moving forward, quickly making a pass for 3rd place. On a hooked-up race track where passing opportunities were limited, Jeremy maintained a consistent pace and held off the competition to secure a podium finish.
The 3rd-place result marked an important bounce-back performance for Jeremy and the team and continued to build momentum early in the 2026 season.
“We were excited to get back to Santa Maria,” said Alves. “It’s a place where we’ve had success, and it felt great to put together a solid night and come home with a podium finish. The car was fast, and the team gave me everything I needed.”
